WORD FEAST-DAILY DEVOTIONAL
COMPLETE IN HIM

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.”

THE WORD FEAST
Paul now takes us deeper.
After establishing who Christ is and warning us not to be carried away from Him, he gives us the reason Christ must remain our foundation:
“In Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
The word fulness is plērōma — fullness, completeness, the totality of what fills something.
Paul is making an extraordinary declaration:
Nothing of God's fullness is missing in Christ.
Christ is not partially divine.
He is not one expression among many.
The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him bodily.
And then Paul makes the revelation personal:
“AND YE ARE COMPLETE IN HIM.”
The word complete comes from plēroō, meaning to fill, make full, bring to completion.
This is powerful.
Paul does not say:
“You are trying to become complete.”
He says:
“Ye are complete in Him.”
Your completeness is not found in what you possess, who approves you, what title you carry, or how the world defines you.
Your completeness is in Christ.
You do not have to leave Christ to find what Christ already provides.
CHRIST — THE HEAD
Paul then says Christ is:
“the head of all principality and power.”
Head — kephalē — speaks of the head, and in this context points to supreme position, authority, and rule.
Principality — archē — rulers or governing powers.
Power — exousia — authority, jurisdiction, delegated power.
So Paul connects two truths:
Christ is the fullness of God.
Christ is above every spiritual authority.
Therefore, the believer's security is not based upon the absence of opposition.
Our security is based upon the supremacy of Christ over every opposition.
LIBERATION FROM THE BONDS OF WICKEDNESS
This is where our Q3 theme becomes powerful.
The believer cannot fully understand liberation without first understanding who Christ is.
If Christ is above every principality and power, then the believer does not have to live intimidated by powers that Christ has already conquered.
And if we are complete in Him, we do not need to seek spiritual fullness from sources outside of Him.
The enemy often tries to convince people that something is missing:
“You need something else.”
“Christ is not enough.”
“You are not enough.”
“Your identity depends on what you achieve.”
“Your worth depends on who accepts you.”
But Paul answers all of it:
“YE ARE COMPLETE IN HIM.”
Your identity is not waiting to be discovered somewhere outside Christ.
Your fullness is found in Him.
And the next verses will show us how that completeness becomes connected to our liberation—through the putting off of the old nature, burial with Christ, and resurrection into new life.
PROPHETIC PRAYERS
Father, give me revelation of the fullness of Christ and the completeness I have in Him.
I declare that I will not search outside Christ for what God has already made available in Him.
May the revelation of Christ's supremacy produce confidence, stability, and freedom in every area of my life.
WARFARE PRAYERS
Every lie that tells me I am incomplete, insufficient, or abandoned outside of Christ, I reject you in Jesus' name.
Every power that seeks to intimidate me, I declare that Jesus Christ is Lord and is above every principality and power.
I break agreement with every deception that attempts to pull me away from the sufficiency and supremacy of Christ.
DECLARATION
Christ is the fullness of the Godhead.
Christ is above every principality and power.
I am complete in Him.
I lack nothing that God has ordained for me outside of Christ.
I will not be intimidated by spiritual opposition.
I will not seek my identity outside Christ.
My fullness is in Him.
My freedom is in Him.
My victory is in Him.
Jesus Christ is Lord over all.
